Welcome to the web site for the Bristol Branch of the Referees' Association. We represent football referees throughout the Bristol area and on this site you will find out information about our monthly meeting, our guest speaker, the branch and other member services. We encourage your feedback and look forward to seeing you at our meetings.

02/05/08: The Bristol RA branch came 6th out of 8 teams at the National RA Quiz in Coventry on Sunday 27th April. The competition was won by the Bromley branch with last years champions Erewash Valley branch coming second. Download here>

22/04/08: Members are being asked to fill out a very quick questionnaire on how the committee could resolve a number of critical questions that have arisen on attendances at meetings. Download here>

20/03/08: Congratulations to the Bristol RA quiz team (Allan Mills, Maris Brugis, Dave Price and Colin Harris) who represented Gloucestershire at the Regional RA quiz. They finished 2nd and will now take part in the National Final in Coventry

04/03/08: National Draw - There are still plenty of National Draw tickets for sale. Cash prizes go up to £5,000 and the branch receives 50% of the proceeds of tickets sold. Please contact Peter Colley

Martin Cassidy ~ FA Coach, Ex-Football League Assistant Referee and Weston-Super-Mare RA chairman was our guest speaker for the evening

The members that were present, benefited from Martin's wisdom, and many were wiser leaving the meeting than they had been on arrival.

Another season nearly completed and the AGM is coming along on Thursday 8th May at Hanham Folk Centre. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

The meeting will be held at 7.30pm in the Whittuck Room.

Venue for RA Meetings

Due to the forthcoming re-development of the Memorial Stadium, Bristol RA will host all it's meetings at the Hanham Folk Centre, Bristol in the Whittuck Room. The venue has easy access, it is close to the A4174, has ample car parking spaces and has low bar prices. For map and directions on how to get to the new venue (download here). Young Referee's Meeting

The last Young Referee's (aged 21 or under) meeting was held at 6.30pm just before the main meeting on the 6th October where Roger Vaughan the FA Regional Referees Manager was in attendence to answer questions. If there are suggestions for what you the young referee would like from these meetings, then please contact Sheldon Baker-Aston or Chris Cordy.You do not need to be a member of the Referees' Association. However, we can tell you about the benefits of being a member and you will be welcome to stay on for the monthly meeting which follows.
