- There were 35 members present.
- The final number of members for the season was 154 plus 1 associate.
- 64 members have already paid subscriptions for the new season, which the Chairman commented must be the highest ever at this stage.
- A document was handed out containing details of the proposed rule changes to be voted on at the AGM. (Please download here)
- The following members were congratulated on their promotions: Sheldon Baker, who received a double promotion from level 7 to 5; Brian Duffy from level 6 to 5 and Maris Brugis, Jeff Dyer, Jeff Forster, Steve Green, Matt.Sealy, Scott Tamlin and David Webb from level 7 to 6.
- Referee Adrian Forrester has been suspended by the GFA from all football involvement. Anyone who encounters him at a match is asked to advise Brian Derry, or Colin Harris.
- All referees must have full Child Protection and CRB clearance before their registration for season 2007/08 will be accepted.
- The Darts team comprising Andrew Kennedy, Danny Kite, Peter Colley and John Colley had an enjoyable evening at Gloucester although they were knocked out in the first round. The competition was won by Forest branch.
- There are still plenty of National Draw tickets for sale. Cash prizes go up to £5,000 and the branch receives 50% of the proceeds of tickets sold. Contact Andrew Kennedy.
- For this month’s Training Topic, Colin Harris talked about the approach to club assistant referees – see Training Topic.
- Tony Mills and Colin Harris staged a re-enactment of the Regional Quiz for entertainment and to help familiarise members with the format, so they might consider future participation. There were five teams and the winners were Rod Green, Sheldon Baker, Adam Bushell and Sam Morse. The joint leading individual scorers were Dave Price and Brian Derry and these all received prizes.
- Irvin Campbell volunteered to fill the vacant place in the team to participate in the National final at Coventry on 29 April, along with Tony Mills, Colin Harris and Dave Price.
- The next meeting is the AGM on Thursday 10 May and all members are urged to attend on this very important evening.
